Education

Specialization is obtained through a centrally regulated registrar system.
Continuing professional development is mandatory and is based on the accrual of Continuous Medical Education (CME) points.
Failure to obtain the required numbers of CME points from accredited training programmes will lead to a suspension of the right to practice.
Complaints
The Medical Chamber has extensive powers over physicans and may fine, suspend or remove the right to practice.
Patient complaints may be addressed to the chamber.
Patients also retain the right to follow civil action through the courts.
