Gillian Cannon

Biography
Gill qualified from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1992 and after initially working in the NHS she returned to Australia to continue her Post-graduate education. Gill has worked within Private Practice for over 14 years and specialises in Sports Medicine. She is currently the National Lead Physiotherapist for British Gymnastics and has worked with many other National teams including UK Athletics and British Orienteering. She has represented Australia and Great Britain as Physiotherapist at Commonwealth, European, World and Olympic level.

Rachel Galley

Biography
Rachel qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Leeds Metropolitan University and after initially working in the NHS managed her own physiotherapy and sports injury clinic within a leading tennis and squash club in Yorkshire before Physio Action was established in 2003. She is also a qualified tennis coach and works with various County and National players to assist in the management and treatment of racquet sport related injuries. Rachel has worked with all age groups of representative rugby within Yorkshire and the North of England and treated many players who have gone on to achieve International honours. She is now the lead physiotherapist with the England Counties Rugby Team in addition to work with the Senior Yorkshire Rugby Union Squad and Wharfedale Rugby Union Football Club.

Jennifer Redfern

Biography
Jen qualified in 2002 with a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy. She has varied experience within the musculoskeletal field and has a dance and music background. Jen’s sporting experience includes treatment of high level rugby players and dancers. She also works with musicians who experience music-related injuries. Jen is a qualified pilates instructor with the APPI and also delivers courses to physiotherapists interested in using pilates. Jen integrates stability programmes into most of her treatment and rehabilitation programmes and believes core stability is crucial for a full recovery. She is also qualified to practice acupuncture for pain relief. In addition to her interest in sports medicine, Jen is also involved in the ergonomics field.

Ruth Atkinson

Biography
Ruth has a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and with over 15 years of experience in musculo-skeletal medicine is qualified to practice acupuncture, has a post gradualte certificate in Combined Manipulation and is currently studying for an MSc in Sports and Exercise Management. Ruth has worked with recreational and elite sports people in the rehabilitation of injury. Her particular area of expertise lies in core stability and muscle imbalance problems, which she also understands from personal experience, have competed at National level in gymnastics and diving.
