Diane Hunter

Biography
Diane graduated from Queen Margaret University College in Edinburgh in 1994 with a BSc. Honours in Physiotherapy. She began working as a physiotherapist in the West and Central areas of Scotland in the NHS, picking up experience along the way in areas such as Orthopaedics, Neurology, Respiratory Physiotherapy and working in GP practices. She began to specialise in Sports Physiotherapy, working at events such as International Athletics, Youth Commonwealth Games and Youth Olympics. She soon began to travel internationally with Scottish Swimming, Judo, Hockey, Curling teams and with the GB Judo team. Alongside her work in the NHS, Diane managed a couple part-time sports injury clinics in Stirling, treating and advising all levels of sportspeople. In 2002, she began full time work as Senior Physiotherapist in sports medicine in Glasgow. A year later, she graduated from Glasgow University with an MSc in Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise. Her research for this investigated shoulder injuries in swimmers and strategies for rehabilitation. Her work continued to develop into other aspects of sports medicine such as research and education. She regularly lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapists, medics and sports scientists in areas such as rehabilitation, sports medicine and first aid. In 2006, Diane was asked to join a team of physiotherapists providing cover to Jockeys at Horse Racing venues all over the country. She currently covers all of the National Hunt fixtures in Scotland. In 2007, she set up Physiologix, physiotherapy centre. Diane is a Chartered Physiotherapist and is registered with the Health Professionals Council.

Karen Idun

Biography
Karen Idun MSc Sports Nutrition BSc Hons Biomedical Science PgD Applied Nutrition Dip PT/ST Graduated from Glasgow University in 2008 with an MSc in Sports and Exercise Nutrition achieving a merit overall. Her research is based on the Glycaemic effect of carbohydrate diets on endurance runners and the ergogenic effects of caffeine on fatigue! Graduated from University of Glasgow in 1998 with a BSc in Biomedical Science, Karen developed a keen interest in nutrition and exercise. After acquiring a postgraduate diploma in Applied nutrition from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2001, she later went on to enter the fitness industry after completing a diploma in personal training and sports massage therapy. After working in many gyms in and around Glasgow she decided to start her own business Oracle Fitness offering personal training, sports massage, fitness/aerobics classes and nutritional consultations. Karen is associated with Giffnock North running club in which she offers treatment to many of the members. As well as her health and fitness activities she also lectures part time at the Central college of Commerce to HND and HNC sports students. Karen is now based in Physiologix practising Sports Massage, Sports Nutrition and Personal Training and has a keen interest in reducing obesity.

Aelrid Turner

Biography
Holistic Therapist Aelrid studied at the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine in 2007 and achieved a Credit Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Holistic Massage. Her Holistic massage incorporates a deep therapeutic massage while also encouraging a healthier and less stressful lifestyle. Some of the benefits of Holistic massage are stress relief, increased energy levels, improved circulation, improved immunity, increased muscle suppleness, balanced digestive stystem, reduced blood pressure. Aelrid is also trained in Indian Head Massage, which promotes healthy hair and scalp, stress reduction, relaxation and reduction of neck pain and headaches. Aelrid is based at Physiologix but can also visits patients at home. Aelrid also does Holistic treatments with Adults who have learning difficulties.

Brian Bull

Biography
B.Sc. PGD MCHS., Podiatrist Brian graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a B.Sc. in Podiatry in 1999. He is currently working in both the NHS and the private sector. Brian completed his PGD at Staffordshire University. His extensive research is focused on running shoes and the impact on Biomechanics of the lower body and how this relates to injury. He offers biomechanical assessments, routine Podiatry (Chiropody) treatment, custom made Orthotics and footwear advice. He also treats and advises professional footballers, working with several clubs. Brian is a State Registered Podiatrist, registered with the Health Professionals Council.
