Phil joined the practice in 1988 and has worked here happily ever since. Phil qualified in London in 1988 from Guy’s Dental Hospital, London. Born 1965, Manchester. St Dunstans School Catford. Phil has been in General Dental practice since 1988 and has developed the cosmetic side to the practice, overseeing the introduction of hygienists, endodontists, periodontists and the implant centre to the team. Phil has been an elected representative for local dentists on the Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark Local Dental Committee and the Metropolitan Branch of the British Dental Association, The London Council of the British Dental Association and helped set up the South Thames Branch of the Independent Practice Committee. More recently, Phil has been writing for a selection of dental journals. At Blackheath Village Dental Practice we like to keep abreast of the technological advances being made in dentistry. Phil introduced the intra-oral cameras, the air abrasion and the Zoom and Zoom 2 tooth whitening procedures to the practice together with the Smile Lift techniques which he learnt at the Rosenthal Institiute in New York and has since been aiding the teaching programme when it is held in the UK.

Purchased practice at 13 Blackheath Village from Welby Skinner 1969. Moved practice to 19 Montpelier Vale in1976. Founder member of the Ashkelon Volunteer Dental Clinic for Deprived Children in Israel. In love with Bobby Charlton, Manchester United, Golf and Blackheath. Editorial adviser to Independent Dentistry magazine 1999. Jo has worked in Blackheath for almost 40 years and has enjoyed the local atmosphere that has developed over the years.
