He completed his MSc in Primary Dental Care at Glasgow University in 2000, his MFGDP in London in 2002 and his MGDS at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow in 2004. In Feb 06 gained a Fellowship with the Faculty of General Dental Practice, the highest accolade given to general dentists. He has been a Vocational Trainer and is currently the Scottish Faculty of General Dental Practitioners Tutor running the MFGDP Diploma course. He has gained extensive experience in cosmetic treatments, advanced restorations and dental implants.

Philip qualified from Liverpool University in 1995. After several years developing interests in cosmetic and gentle dentistry, he took part in the first course designed to train the future trainers of dentists in Scotland.
