Dr Yue Weng Cheu is the Clinical Director of DP Dental PL. The focus of his dental team is to provide comprehensive family care, emphasizing on patients comfort as well as high standard in delivery of advanced dental care and services.
He read for his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from 1995 to 1999. He was elected Class Representative and was on the Deans List in his first year of studies. He was elected President of the NUS Dental Society and Dental Club in his third year. In the same year, he won the Pierre Fauchard Academy Foundation Scholarship Award and was on a student exchange programme to Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California, USA.
Dr Yue is a motivated dental surgeon practising General Dentistry. He started his dental career in 2000 in the heartlands, providing his professional services at Hougang Polyclinic. There he served the first two years of his bond as a clinician as well as the Head of the Dental Department in the Polyclinic. He was also a member of the team who was involved in the restructuring of the policies and fees for the National Health Group Polyclinics (Dental Division).
The following two years saw further development in his professional career. He was posted to the Singapore Armed Forces (Tengah Airbase and Paya Lebar Airbase), both as Head of Clinic and Civilian Dental Officer. He also headed a committee that reviewed the Infection Control Protocols in SAF Dental Centres and brought about significant changes in this area.
He had a short stint at the National Dental Centre before he left for private practice in 2004 and joined the de Pacific Group of clinics.
Dr Yue assumed the role of Clinical Director for the Kovan and Pasir Ris branch in 2005 and became Director and owner of this clinic in January 2006. In January 2007, the clinic was officially renamed DP Dental.
Dr Yue received training in multiple disciplines, both locally and overseas, so as to provide wide-ranging and integrated treatment for patients under his care.
He has enrolled in a Neuromuscular Dentistry programme by LVI by attending their regional session held in Sydney in 2005. He journeyed in 2006 to the LVI HQ in Las Vegas to participate in an advanced live-patient programme in Aesthetic Adhesives which covered updated strict protocols for provision of tooth-coloured fillings and porcelain inlay/onlay and crown.
His interest in implant dentistry began in 2001 with a trip to Germany, birth-place of many leading implant systems in the world. More learning trips followed in 2006, 2007 and 2008 to Germany, France and Taiwan for sharing sessions at chairside and lectures with experienced practitioners.
Dr Yue has completed the admission examinations to the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS) and Part I and Part II exams for the Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF RCS Eng). He is also preparing for certification exam for the Certificate of Oral Implantology (JW Goethe-University of Frankfurt am Main).
He now focuses on Implant Dentistry, LASER dentisty, One Visit Dentistry (CEREC 3D), with emphasis on Aesthetic Porcelain Onlays & Inlays & Tooth-Coloured Restorations, and Invisalign. His other areas of interest include Neuromuscular dentistry and MCI-Anti Night Grinding Devices.
Dr Yue is blissfully married to Louisa and has an adorable boy, Sean.
