The results were fantastic, and his prices were as quoted. Dr. Penunuri has been around a long while (he was celebrating his 50th birthday when we were there), and his experience shows in his exemplary treatment. As a dentist, he is every bit as good as American dentists. But he goes further than American dentists. He made his driver available to shuttle us between the San Diego airport and Tijuana. He personally followed up his treatment every day with a call to the hotel. He explained every option in great detail. He found a way for it not to hurt without narcotics. And when there was a problem with the crown cement, there was no dramas, no excuses, no delays. He went out, replaced the cement himself, and recemented everything in the early evening. No sane individual expects anything so complex to proceed without a problem. More importantly, he is enthusiastic about fixing any problems immediately. Oh, and about honesty. Dr. Penunuri had the opportunity to run up the bill if he wanted. He honestly reported the true condition and only treated what was necessary. I wish I could say the same about all my American dentists.

Would you recommend the clinic?

Yes, I would recommend Dr. Penunuri's clinic over any (and I mean any) American dental clinic. He does more, for 40% of the cost. I went through a lot of research before deciding where to go. I initially thought Costa Rica was the best idea, but three trips were needed. With all the good reports from Tijuana, I decided to risk Tijuana, a place with not such a good reputation. There are a lot of dentists in Tijuana, and I found 6 or so that were good candidates. The Internet forums were very helpful in identifying dubious dentists. It is essential to research sources well.

Would you return for further treatment?

OK, let's be honest. Three separate treatments are needed. The first is complete in October, 2009. There is no doubt of a return for treatments #2 and #3, but the quality of dental work can only be assessed over time. I have confidence now that his work will stand the test of time, but only time will prove it. If something adverse happens, I will contact revahealth.com to revise this review. A final note on Dr. Penunuri's clinic. He seems to be in a fairly safe part of Tijuana. Three nice hotels are within walking distance, and the US consulate is just one block away. We went back to the hotel by dusk, but visited nearby shops and attractions during the day without incident. Taxis are a bit aggressive, but aggressive for business. Most everyone we contacted spoke at least rudimentary English. Communication was not difficult.

I was very pleased with the treatment, I received a full mouth restoration / reconstruction due to worn teeth and a poor bite. The Dr and his staff provided a very focused intensive service in a VERY short period of time compared to US counterparts with EXCELLENT results.

Very much so, Dr. Penunuri and his staff were very helpful and professional. Fantastic results, high quality work and less than 1/3rd of the cost of the same in the US for high quality empress crowns....definately worth the trip.

We were very satisfied with the results. My wife was deathly afraid of going to the dentist, she hasn't been in 9 years. She was so impressed with my treatment she agreed to get her teeth cleaned, then she agreed to have a cavity filled and a crown replaced. I went to have 6 veneers to be replaced ended up having 22 installed instead. I now have the smile I see on TV commercials.

I am exceptionally pleased. The five easy appointments were spaced over the five days. All the work, except for the lab time, could easily fit in two sessions. With more dentists of Dr. Penunuri's caliber across the border, there is no need to have any dental work done in the United States. The unacceptable standards of care, the prevalence of unethical conduct, the outrageous cost, the lack of skill, the short egotistic attention span, the unscrupulous opportunism- all will be left behind once you cross the border and walk into Dr. Penunuri's office. If you ever knew what acceptable standard of health care is but it's been too long, you'll get reminded with this brilliant dentist. Additionally, one can only appreciate integrity of this professional and will find all his attributes indicative of a man who fully and inherently understands and actively invests in solid reputation.

All the staff is courteous, professional, highly efficient, and simply delightful to be around whether one is in the waiting room or undergoing work in the dental chair. I highly recommend this clinic. For those looking for the best, look no further. I am sending friends and family members in hordes.

Dr. Sergio is not only a great dentist who takes great measures to ensure the patient's comfort and provide technically correct dental care, but also a very talented artist who takes personal pride in the appearance of his work. The results of my crowns and veneers (front top and bottom) exceeded all my expectations. In addition to providing me with a beautiful smile, Dr. Sergio has improved my bite and oral health.

Would you recommend the clinic?

I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Sergio. Both he and his staff make every effort to put the patient at ease from the start, and phone calls are promptly returned and appointments eaily set. This is a small, simple office with just one dentist. If you're looking for a fancy practice with fountains and lcd screens, go ahead a spend a fortune to get that somewhere else (I know, I visited several for consultations). If you want excellent dental service from a committed professional, then Dr. Sergio is your man. You can take all the money you saved by skipping the fancy place and enjoy a vacation -- just you and your new smile on a beach!

I will return to Dr. Sergio for any and all dental care. He is the best dentist I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. As icing on the cake, he is an affable person who takes the time to connect on a human level with his patients. You would be hard pressed to find a better dentist or individual.

Dr Sergio Penunuri is punctual, proffessional, and friendly. He explains everything carefully and gives his prices up front with nothing added later. He took the impression for the crown at 9am and had the permanent crown back from the lab at 6pm the same day. While I waited he did 5 fillings and a deep clean of my teeth. I had taken a taxi from the border to his office for $5 and in the evening the clinic provided a free ride back to the border in a van. There was time during the day while waiting for the crown to take a taxi to Revolution street to do some tourist shopping and have lunch, and there's a wonderful coffee shop next door to the clinic.

Would you recommend the clinic?

This clinic returned my email and my phone call the most promptly. The taxi from the border found it using the photos posted on Dr Sergio's website, but a few of the buildings in that street look the same so don't let the taxi drop you off in the street without finding the right number on the building. Dr Sergio is on the second floor and has a small clinic with a small waiting room, but the equipment and service is as clean and professional as any in the U.S. Highly individual, focused, friendly attention given, with all dental work being completed in one day. In the U.S. I had been quoted $1200 just to have the crown done, and I was charged $90 just for the 5 minutes it took to give that information!!! For all the above mentioned work I paid only $900 and I left knowing my teeth were finally in good shape for another 6 months.

The price was right in line with what we were originally quoted. The actual work done changed once the doctor was able to examine me. He actually recommended less than what I thought I would need. I am extremely happy with the work the doctor did and the relief of not having to have years of payments hanging over me actually helps, as well.

I would definitely recommend the clinic. I had several crowns done, a root canal, 2 fillings and 2 bridges done over a 5-day period. Dr. Penunuri and his staff are extremely caring and professional, which made the experience almost enjoyable. I actually have never felt so relaxed in a dental chair in my life. The doctor has a wonderful way of making you feel that you are in good hands, which you are.

Definitely. in fact I'm hoping to return to have some additional porcelain veneers done in the future.

I ended up with crowns instead of veneers. I have movie star teeth now! I have had to learn to smile all over again. I'm not afraid to have my picture taken anymore. Dr. Penuri is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He provided transportation to and from the airport, and the hotel. I feel we will always be friends now.
