Mexican Dentistry
Dentists in Mexico can equal the best available across the world. The Asociación Dental Mexicana has over 50 years experience regulating its members and encourages continuing education and high ethical standards. Many Mexican dentists will also belong to the American Dental Association, benefiting from its training programs and keeping up to date with the latest in dental technologies.
Our three most popular dental clinics are:
Benefits of Travelling to Mexico
Perhaps the most obvious benefits of Mexico as a dental destination for Americans is its proximity and its low costs. A short car journey can put Califorians in the middle of one of the highest densities of dental clinics in the world.
Too much choice can be confusing, and with irregular federal oversight you need to know what to look for. Good dentists regularly attend courses to update their skills. Joining dental associations, whether Mexican or American is a good indication that a dentist is dedicated to their continuing professional development. Check the staff sections of clinics to see the academic work and practical training the dentists have completed.
Lower labour costs and cheaper office space allow Mexico's dentists to offer comparable treatments to their U.S neighbours at a very competitive cost. Our most popular destination in Mexico is currently Tijuana

Dentists in Mexico - Additional Information
Organizations
All dentists must posses a certificate of graduation from a licenced educational institution. The title of dentist is confered at a federal level allowing free movement of dentists through the country.
The Asociación Dental Mexicana was established in 1942. The Consejo de Certificación de la Asociación Dental Mexicana registers Mexican dentists and the Asociación is more broadly responsible for the ethical and educational development of dentistry in Mexico. Certification with the ADM is not manditory.
Dental Ethics
Members of the ADM are bound by its code of ethics that stipulates the duties of dental surgeons. In common with the U.S and E.U these clarify the duty of a dentist to do no harm, look after the ongoing health of the patient, guard the confidentiality of client information and pass that information on to another dentist at the request of the patient.
Complaints
Ethical and procedural complaints can be passed to the ADM if the performing dentist is a member. Recourse through the courts is difficult and time consuming.
Continuing education
The ADM believes in the principle of continuous education for dentists. There is a process of recertification every 5 years which involves an examination of dental skills: all ADM members should have a copy of their certification valid for the current period.
Data Protection
There is data protection legislation in place in Mexico with specific categories for medical records. The ethical responsibilities of dental surgeons for the management of records include additional duties (see the dental ethics section above).

Reviews: Dt. Aysegul Onen - Turkey
My treatment changed slightly, and on this visit I only had my current fillings (10 of them) changed to white. Dt Aysegul and her assistant Susan were very friendly and put me at ease on every visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to a friend. In fact, I already have. My partner and I will be returning next year for routine check and other cosmetic dental treatment.

Implant Dental Center Tijuana and Guadalajara

Dental implants are TITANIUM cylinders that are placed in the upper or lower bone, as a 'fixture' to help support a dental prothesis, which will serve as a substitute of the lost natural teeth. The prothodontist can build these protheses, customed design and shaded to aestheticaly suit each patient's distinctive facial requirements. The evolution of Dental implants in this century has ocurred with different materials. Today's Dental Implants are made of TITANIUM, which is a precious metal, that has proven to be well accepted in the bone where it is placed. Sophisticated research for more than three decades in Europe, the United States and abroad has recognized titanium for it's biological compatibility with the human body. Dental implants are indicated: - Where there is a loss of one or many teeth
- When the metal casting across the palate of upper removable partial denture, or the metal casting near the tongue of a lower partial denture are bothersome.
- When the patient that wears clasps of the partial denture has never accepted the esthetics of the metal smile of front teeth.
- When retention of a lower or an upper partial denture is a problem.
The treatment with dental implants in México requires of a minimum of 2 stages. 1) The first stage construction is a surgery procedure, that is performed by Dr. Maite Moreno or if the case requires of a Maxillofacial specialist. Nearly all implants are placed in the mouth with local anesthesia in a dental chair. No pain is felt during the surgical procedure. Depending upon the number of implants placed, there may be swelling and/or tenderness for a few days following the surgery. Pain medication is usuallly prescribed which alleviates this discomfort and a soft food diet. 2) The second stage is the prosthesis construction is made by Dr. M. Moreno. MSPatient's Treatments in MéxicoThe healing process of the jaw bone and the building of the new teeth may be accomplished in as little as four months, though the upper bone normally requires seven months to heal. Dental implant patients range from age nine to a 100. A single congenitally missing tooth can dramatically change the life of a youngster; the replacement of implant dentures in an older patient can make the golden years more fulfilling , and considerably gentler to both the digestive tract and the cardiocascular system. Contraindications: only patients with rare blood diseases, leukemia, or patients being treated with chemotherapy. Programmed Lectures of Dr. Moreno for the rest of the year 2008: Tampico Tamps, March 1st, & Nobelbiocare World tour July 16-18 (Mexico city). Show More

Were you pleased with the treatment?
Dr. Maite Moreno, of the Implant Dental Center in Tijuana, Mexico made a very good first impression. She was not only friendly and cordial, but offered me the choice between conventional porcelain over metal crowns and superior quality Procera porcelain crowns (for double the price, of course). Since I needed to replace basically every crown and tooth in my mouth, I chose the more expensive option as she promised superior quality. I was lulled into a false sense of security by the "Procera" name, not properly considering the extreme importance of the quality of the dental work itself. As a result, I spent over $20,000 to Dr. Moreno and am going to have the entire work redone by someone else to make up for her apparently shoddy work. I should have noticed the first warning sign when Dr. Morena demanded thousands of dollars up paid in advance. Moreover, I should have paid closer attention to the several other patients that were complaining about problems with her work that Dr. Moreno merely dismissed as "crazy patients." I am certain that now she says the same of me behind my back as well. Yes, in retrospect, I was crazy...crazy to blindly trust Dr. Moreno and not get her work checked every step of the way by a second dentist! When Dr. Moreno finally finished the first of the three implants that I paid her in advance for, the finished crown came hanging in mid-air! This is what caused me to become alarmed enough that I got a second opinion from a second dentist about her completed work. This is when I got the shock of my life. It turns out that Dr. Moreno left me with major problems. First off, the ex-rays of the crowns look more like cheaper porcelain over metal instead of the double the price Procera porcelain crowns. When presented with this information, Dr. Moreno merely proclaimed that the other dentist must be "inept," but has until now completely failed to present with any evidence whatsoever that the crowns she delivered are actually the Procera crowns she promised. More importantly, even assuming that the delivered crowns actually might be Procera, it turns out that none of the crowns she made have the correct termination lines with the gums and there are even large spaces for food to accumulate between many of them! I am already as a consequence of this shoddy work developing problems with odors and bacteria! When presented with this information, Dr. Moreno sarcastically replied "This is because you are a pig and do not brush your teeth." This, of course is nonsense. I am not a dentist, but even so I protested upon delivery of the crowns about the incorrect margins on the crowns in the front as I could easily observe that they were too short. Dr. Moreno told me that this was just because the provisionals had pushed the gums up and that the gums would come down to the margins on their own. Today, Dr. Moreno comes invents the alternative toothbrush excuse because I was silly enough to trust her instead of having her work checked immediately by another dentist. Dr. Moreno has not shown the slightest inclination to correct any of the problems that she has left me with, let alone to reimburse me anything at all, although still has several thousand dollars she required in advance for services never rendered. Instead of offering to reimburse me even this money, she instead insists she will additionally "charge me for lost business resulting from this bad review I have published about her." I therefore recommend avoiding the Implant Dental Center like the plague. More specifically, I recommend that you: 1. Do not pay Dr. Moreno in advance for anything! and 2. have her work carefully checked by a second dentist every step of the way! At this point, Dr. Moreno has received over $20,000 in advance from me over the past year and has not offered to reimburse me even one cent or even correct the deficient work. Since I no longer trust her work, I will not sit down in her chair ever again. This means that I have likely lost everything that I paid her and will have to pay all over again somewhere else, but at least I can help you from making the same mistakes I did.

Were you pleased with the treatment?
My bridge was finalized yesterday. I am very satisfied with the final result. The final price was the quoted price. There were errors in some of the paper work, but I'm sure the mistakes will be corrected.
Would you recommend the clinic?
Certainly.
Would you return for further treatment?
Yes. However a consideration is external costs,i.,e., gasoline to get to the border, taxi fees and parking fees cost me $41 per day for five sessions.
