Tooth coloured CAD CAM (computer aided design – computer aided manufacture) restorations.
Using a small “camera” to take an optical impression of your tooth or cavity, we can now
design the new restoration on the computer, cut it out of a solid block of matching porcelain and fit it in the same visit.
With the advantages of final restoration in one visit that means only one anaesthetic, no temporary, reduced need for putty impressions and tooth coloured ceramic restoration.
This technique can be used to provide white fillings, inlays, onlays, crowns, and veneers which are both aesthetically pleasing and have a proven prognosis.
With increasing computer sophistication we can now use a miniature infrared camera to take images of your teeth and design and manufacture your restorations in one visit.
Cerec 3D has been developed over the last 20 years and become part of our normal working days practice.
As the first practice in Ireland to offer this facility and with the International Trainers Certificate we are able to offer this service as part of our normal working day.
Restoration of either an old filling or a new filling presents the dentist and patient with choices and decisions. Nowadays we still have the choice of amalgam (silver / mercury), composite (glass filler and paste), gold fillings or porcelain.

All of your teeth play an important role in speaking, chewing and in maintaining proper alignment of other teeth. Tooth loss doesn't necessarily have to occur as you age, but if you do lose teeth, they must be replaced to maintain proper function of your mouth. Fortunately, there are options for correcting tooth loss.
Options
A bridge — a device used to replace missing teeth — attaches artificial teeth to adjacent natural teeth, called abutment teeth. Bridges are either permanently attached (fixed bridges), or they can be removable.
Fixed bridges are applied by either placing crowns on the abutment teeth or by bonding the artificial teeth directly to the abutment teeth.

Were you pleased with the treatment?
I was very pleased with the results that I received at the Gate Clinic. The sedation option that they offer when getting implants/extractions is amazing, and well worth the money. You go for a nap and when you wake you are waiting for the treatment to begin, but it's all done!! It's not a general anesthetic, it's safe and brilliant for nervous patients, or those with a low pain threshold.
Would you recommend the clinic?
The staff are so friendly and down to earth. They make you feel relaxed and at ease. It doesn't feel like the overly sterile and faceless type of dentistry you normally get in Ireland. I would recommend the Gate Clinic to anyone who is serious about getting their teeth sorted correctly the first time. Although it may seem expensive, the work that Dr Moore does is faultless and worth every penny.
Would you return for further treatment?
I wouldn't go to any other dentist now. The staff don't make you feel bad if you have been neglecting your teeth. They are there to help and try to treat your teeth as they would their own. There are no lectures or tut tuts!! There are no nasty surprises with regards to cost. Every appointment is quoted first, so no embarrassment at the reception. The staff are discreet and respectful at all times.

Were you pleased with the treatment?
I have had 2 root canal treatments with Dr Jarleth Loftus at the Gate Clinic and I would not go anywhere else in future, despite the price! :-)
My previous experiences with 3 other dentists were not good. In fact the most recent treatment with Dr Loftus was to fix up a root canal job that had been botched by another dentist. Thankfully Dr Loftus managed to properly fill all the canals and saved my tooth in the process.
Would you recommend the clinic?
Absolutely. If it is a root canal you need don't let your general dentist talk you into letting them do it. Go to a specialist endodontist like Dr Loftus and get it done properly first time. Saves a lot of time, pain and cash.
Would you return for further treatment?
For root canals Dr Loftus is the only person I'd bother with again.

Were you pleased with the treatment?
My teeth look fantastic! I was really concious before of the gaps, uneveness and shade of my teeth - I've quite a wide smile so whenever I saw photos of myself all I'd be able to focus on were my imperfect teeth... you know it's time to sort them out when you start to avoid smiling!
Now I think my smile is naturally beautiful - I'll be showing these off as much as I can!
Before treatment started I had a pretty good idea of what to expect - Dr Moore made a mock-up of the expected final product for me to approve, and explained how he'd get there.
Financially everything was very clear, there were no surpises and I think I had excellent value!
Would you recommend the clinic?
The front desk staff are lovely - really good communication about when my appointments were and super friendly whilst I was in the clinic.
Dr Moore himself was charming and professional - very upfront and easy to be in the company of.
Would you return for further treatment?
Absolutely.

Were you pleased with the treatment?
I have had numerous treatments at this dental practice and although I don't live in Galway anymore, I travel for 2.5 hours to go there! Professional, friendly and cutting edge are but a few of the descriptive words I would use when describing the Gate Clinic.
