About Teeside Plastic Surgery

Teesside Plastic Surgery in Middlesbrough operates out of an independent building with its own free private parking. The three plastic surgeons functioning here operate independently, but provide assistance to each other. They offer both surgical and non surgical treatments for cosmetic and other needs. The initial consultation charge is 120 UKP for non-insured patients. Insured patients need to have referral letters from their family doctors or other specialists. The procedures would be either done in the surgery or local hospitals.

Biography
British Born 1963 Sussex Studied medicine at Guy’s Hospital London, Graduating in 1987 Qualifications: MBBS (London) 1987 FRCS (England) 1991 FRCS (Plast) 1998 Consultant since 1998 Member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (formerly BAPS) Full Member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand Life member of the Indian Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery. GMC Registration: 3262405 Martin has been a consultant plastic surgeon in the South Tees Hospital Trust on Teesside since 1998. Shortly after his appointment, he was asked to be clinical director of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at the Middlesbrough General Hospital, and following the move of the unit to the James Cook University Hospital in 2003, has continued in that post to date. In that time the unit has grown from two to five consultants and now offers a comprehensive range of reconstructive plastic and microsurgery. In private practice since 1999, but with a three year period of inactivity required to build up the NHS unit. His basic medical training was undertaken at Guys Hospital in London Career junior (Senior House Officer) plastic surgery positions at the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield and St. James's, Leeds led to his appointment to a training Registrar position in Leeds in 1993. Additional training in Bradford and the Australian Cranio-facial unit in Adelaide, South Australia, for the whole of 1995 before gaining specialist registration as a plastic surgeon in 1998. Whilst not undertaking a period of formal research he has been first author of many published and presented clinical papers some of which are quoted in the international standard reference works of reconstructive plastic and hand surgery. In 1996 he won the Kay Kilner Prize for a work on Measuring Outcomes in Plastic Surgery. He has lectured at home and internationally on plastic, breast and micro surgery, with a particular affinity for the Indian subcontinent, where he believes the potential for plastic surgeons is enormous. A member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS, formally BAPS), and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, Martin was the first overseas life member of the Indian Association of Reconstructive Microsurgeons. Keith Philip Allison

Biography
MBChB, MD, FRCS (Eng), FIMC RCS (Ed), FRCS (Plast) Born in Birmingham UK, married and living in Richmond, North Yorkshire. I did my medical training initially in Sheffield. I then moved with various surgery jobs through Staffordshire and back to the West Midlands to continue my career in Plastic Surgery. I completed clinical research in the medical application of lasers and prior to taking up my consultant post in the UK I also trained in Toronto, Canada and was one of the first plastic surgeons in the UK to undergo a formal aesthetic / cosmetic surgery training at the McIndoe Surgical Centre. I have a wide-ranging general plastic surgery practice in the NHS based at The James Cook University Hospital. My special interests are in cancer and trauma reconstruction. Austrian Born 1960 in Germany, married Studied Medicine at the University of Innsbruck, Tyrol, Dr. med. 1992 Military service at the Army Medical School, Vienna and Military Hospital, Innsbruck Specialist plastic surgery training in Salzburg at “Hospital Barmherzige Brueder” and in Canniesburn, Glasgow. Consultant Plastic Surgeon in Salzburg, Austria from 2000. Since August 2003 has been a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
