Were you pleased with the treatment?
I paid 700 plus pounds for a course of 6 IPL treatments to remove unwanted back hair. After all the months I took trying to pluck up the courage, face the embarrasment and finally get it done, once I had eventually booked the course, I was simultaneously relieved and excited - and of course a little nervous. I was quite expectant that I would respond well to treatment as I seemed the perfect candidate for it - dark hair on pale skin. I thought 'wow, this patient description could have been written about me'. I was wrong. After every time I returned to the clinic, they would ask whether or not I'd seen any results. Part of me wanted to say 'yes, thank you' - the British part that just doesn't like to make a fuss - but I was honest. 'No' I'd say 'not yet'. After all my treatments were down, I look in the mirror and there is literally NO DIFFERENCE. It's no worse than it was before and it's certainly no better - it's just no different at all. I should have been angry, but I wasn't because some part of me knew that all the claims etc would most likely be bullsh*t, and that it was my fault for even buying into what it promises in the first place. I wasn't pleased with the treatment, I took a loan out to pay for it - in reality, I just handed 700-odd pounds over to a clinic for nothing, or for the privilege of having my skin shocked for 30 minutes every 4-5 weeks (which was relaxing to be fair, but not worth the money)
Would you recommend the clinic?
The people were lovely - too lovely, which made it look sinister. They were all smiles, but good friendly customer service is a norm. It's a standard, so it shouldn't even wiegh in on any reviews, it should be taken as granted these days. The clinic itself, clean, nice interior. It's location isn't a good advertisement for it though. It's on Miller St, which isn't an impressive location for an award-winning business at all, and inside - it just didn't have that medical proffessional feel to it. It was a nice place, done up nice, but it felt mostly just like it's name - a visage (oh, I'm good. please excuse the pun - I impressed myself there though) or facade (probably more apt)
Would you return for further treatment?
Definitely not, not at any clinic - unless they said 'we'll take care of that for you free of charge, and results will be guaranteed'
Unfortunately, I think the whole business of IPL is just a lie. And, perhaps cynically, perhaps somewhat truthfully, I think that these types of businesses (all types of businesses really) do not mind lying to you for the purpose of taking your money - in black and white.
