Recession Drives Irish Dental Patients North

New Research from RevaHealth.com shows Irish Patients are shopping around for Dentists

19 March 2009, Dublin – The number of people in the Republic looking for dental treatment in Northern Ireland increased by nearly 75% in February, according to RevaHealth.com, the search engine that lets people find and compare clinics anywhere. The recession is clearly biting hard, as interest in expensive "cosmetic" dental treatments is down by almost 25% too.

RevaHealth.com also found that this drive to save money is reflected in the numbers of people putting off high-end treatment. Interest in dental implants, veneers, crowns and bridges is down by 24.32%. Tax relief in Ireland was recently lowered from the higher rate of 41% to the standard rate of 20%, making expensive work even more costly for many patients.

Caelen King, CEO of RevaHealth.com commented, "Our research clearly shows that Irish patients are choosing to shop around for dental treatment, and visiting Northern Ireland is an increasingly popular option. RevaHealth.com's easy-to-use search engine lets people in Ireland find the clinic they are looking for whether it is around the corner or across the border."
